More bad nutrition advice from runner’s world. It seems that endurance athletes, specifically the ones that write for the magazines, can’t seem to let go of the grains. And I saw this link on the website for the inaugural marathon that will be run in Beaumont next May. There will be lots of beginners running this who are being led in the wrong direction with this info.
Although grains may be great for feeding a large mass of people very cheaply during times of famine, they are not optimal for athletes seeking peak performance.
