Thrills in the Hills

by triman on July 9, 2009

I traveled to Woodville yesterday for my first experience of East Texas hills and I was not disappointed.  I came to the conclusion that I hate the hills because the punishment of climbing them at 5mph but I absolutely love the hills because of thrill of descending them with a maximum speed of 42mph yesterday.  There comes a point when flying down a hill that the bike starts to vibrate, and that is when the adrenaline flows like no other.  Riding hills will definitely help take my cycling to the next level and I plan on riding them at least every other week.  As soon as I figure out how, I will be posting pictures of all my adventures….

How long was the drive out to woodville? How were the shoulders?

It right at an hour to get there, but it was a nice drive. The first and last 2 miles did not have shoulders, but it was 2 lanes in those spots. The rest of the way had VERY wide shoulders. The hills were nice and varied in grade and distance. Overall….sweet!
